FON #HeartHero Spotlight: Meet Kate!

We have a new #HeartHero to celebrate! Say hello to Kate!

Kate is a varsity cheerleader at her school!

She doesn’t let her health issues define her. Instead, she pushes herself to achieve the goals she has set for herself. She is active in her school and community and recently participated in a clinical trial in hopes to improve the lives of other kids born with single ventricles.

We are inspired by Kate’s story of positivity and perseverance!

As a high school student, Kate is heavily involved with extracurricular activities in her school and community- she’s a varsity cheerleader, competitive dancer, and also participates in her school’s National Honor Society and Student Council!

“We are incredibly proud of the way Kate lives her life. Despite living with a chronic illness, she gives 110% every day,” Kate’s family shared.

Kate worked with her classmates to raise awareness for congenital heart defects during Heart Month!

“Despite living with just half her heart, Kate chooses to see all of life’s blessings. She brings joy to everyone she meets. Her infectious smile lights up a room.”

“She doesn’t let her health issues define her. Instead, she pushes herself to achieve the goals she has set for herself. She is active in her school and community and recently participated in a clinical trial in hopes to improve the lives of other kids born with single ventricles.”
