 “Kannan is "an incredible young boy who exemplifies resilience, determination, and joy in the face of extraordinary challenges. Born with a congenital heart defect requiring a Fontan operation, he has undergone multiple complex surgeries and procedures throughout his young life. Despite these hurdles, he has emerged as a beacon of strength and positivity, inspiring all who have had the privilege of knowing him.

This remarkable boy has not only survived but thrived. Developmentally, he is doing exceptionally well, demonstrating impressive skills that captivate everyone around him. Even his use of basic words brings smiles and hope to all who hear him. His zest for life extends beyond words—he is an active, curious child who loves playing outside in the park, embracing the freedom and joy that come with movement and exploration.

One of his greatest passions right now is food trucks! He lights up at the thought of discovering new treats and flavors, turning a simple outing into an adventure. His enthusiasm for these small moments reflects his larger outlook on life: he finds joy in every day, and his ability to appreciate these experiences is a testament to his resilience and character.

This young boy’s journey is a powerful reminder of what is possible with determination, love, and excellent care. He has faced unimaginable challenges and emerged stronger, reminding us all of the incredible potential within every child. This is one of the reasons why I show up to work every day.
